Why We Exist

zVentures is Razer’s corporate ventures arm and an integral component of Razer’s strategic investments activities. We focus on companies that have or will have a role to play within the larger Razer ecosystem. In addition to providing capital, we help our companies interface with Razer by allowing them access to Razer’s network of suppliers and OEMs, customers and investors, as well as allowing them to meet other stakeholders, industry leaders and influencers.

Razer’s Value-Add to Startups

While Razer is still a startup, through the years, we have acquired some significant advantages that we believe can bring extensive value to startups, specifically:

  • Our User Base: Today, we have over 20M active users that use Razer’s software. These are tech-savvy evangelists and gamers who are early adopters and keen on trying new technology.
  • Our Experience with Hardware and Software: There are few companies that have the experience in designing, manufacturing, and distributing/shipping products and software globally.
  • Our Global Distribution Network: We are one of the few startups in the world that have offices globally as well as an extensive distribution channel worldwide.

We believe that startups can bring a lot of value to Razer

We believe startups can add value via:

  • Bringing new products and software to our users: We don’t believe that a company can be all things to all people; talent is everywhere, and in this case, can bring huge value to our users by bringing relevant solutions to them.
  • Financial return: While this isn’t the immediate goal, we believe we have a lot of value we can bring to startups which can prove to be financially profitable for us when they exit.

Our Investment Thesis and Focus

We are interested in emerging companies with opportunities for massive growth and improvement particularly where Razer is able to value-add by offering our own experience and expertise including in the areas of supply chain management, sales and marketing, raising capital etc. Similarly, the target companies will be able to tap on the extensive networks and resources available throughout the wider Razer eco-system.

We will target companies in the following areas:
  • Internet of Things
  • Software and Analytics
  • Advanced manufacturing and engineering
  • Gaming software technology
  • Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR)
  • eSports
  • Robotics
